Reminder to all spikeball teams the tournament will be held this Saturday, January 12th @ 2 pm.
We will be passing out shirts during lunch periods on Friday, January 11th!

Attention All Juniors!
The Writing SOL is March 5-8 and is a requirement for graduation! Writing Center Coaches are trained to help you prepare for the essay and the multiple-choice sections! 
The Writing Center is open during 5th and 6th periods in room 529. Stop by today!

Project ASK is the FBLA State Service Project. ASK, Association for the Support of Children with Cancer, is a non-profit association and allows the organization to conduct diagnostic research and serve as a support group for families of children with cancer. FBLA will be collecting donations in all business classes for Project ASK through Wednesday January 17.  The class that collects the most money will receive a PRIZE. 

What is Cooperative Education?
A structured method of instruction combining classroom-based education with on-the-job training experiences to help students prepare for or explore their occupational objectives. It is paid employment directly related to the classroom instruction at Millbrook and provides credit toward graduation for the job experience. See any Business teacher if you are interested in applying for the Cooperative Education Program for the 2019-20 school year.  

Attention all members of the Class of 2022! The freshman class officers have decided on a superheroes themed basket for Millbrook Fights Cancer Week. Please consider bringing in a new, still packaged super hero donation for the basket by Tuesday, January 15, to room 533. Ms. Buehler and Mrs. Jones will accept your donations and consolidate them into a basket to display in the office. Items to consider donating include: figurines, comics, DVDs, clothing, games, and anything else of interest. Please post questions to Google Classroom or talk to your class officers.

Club News
FBLA members: We will be putting together a beach themed basket for the Cancer Week Silent Auction.  Please bring your beach item donations to room 437 by Monday January 14. You will receive FBLA points for donating.  

Attention all DECA members! Don't forgot to drop off one cleaning supply item to room 439 and receive your DECA points! See Mrs. Stover for any questions, or you can check our DECA Classroom page!

Forensics Game Night
The MHS Forensics Team is sponsoring a Board Game Night at the Winchester Book Gallery located in the downtown walking mall at  7 N Loudoun Street. It is from 6-8 on Friday, January 11. There will be snacks, prizes, and fun games to play like Jenga, Monopoly, Pandemic, Scattergories, Guess Who, card games, and many, many more. Anyone is welcome to come (especially anyone interested in joining the team)! Bring your friends, have fun, and show some love to your local bookstore.

Our next meeting is Monday the 14th 2:45 - 3:30. We will be discussing upcoming events and contests. We are collecting items for a cat themed basket for cancer awareness week. Please bring any donations to Ms. Bethke by the 14th.

The next meeting of the Millbrook Chapter of the National Honor Society will be held on Monday, January 14, after school in the cafeteria. All members are expected to attend to discuss January and February service projects.

Guidance News
Attention Seniors:  
Have you or are you planning to apply to Virginia Tech?  Do you have a 3.8 GPA or higher?  If so, please come to the Guidance Office and give your name to Mrs. Jones, the Guidance Secretary.  Millbrook will be submitting one nominee for the Virginia Tech Pamplin Leadership Award.  Submit your name to the Guidance Office in order to be considered for this award.

Potomac State will be in Guidance TODAY from 11-1. Please stop by Guidance for a pass to attend.

Students who took the PSAT in October may attend an informational score report session on January 14th at 9:30 in the auditorium.  Please check into your 2nd block class for attendance and then promptly report to the room.  At this session you will get your score report and your test booklet.  We will review the score report as well as discuss next steps.  Student who do not attend may pick up their materials in guidance Jan. 15th - 17th.

Attention Seniors- The Local Scholarship Form is now available to fill out online. In order to be eligible for a local scholarship this form must be filled out. Go to our Millbrook High School Webpage and under quick links select School Counseling the form is located under Resources. You must complete the Google form by March 15, 2019.
