DECA students Madison Bollinger, Mikayla Ockerman and Ellie Bowman hosted the Public Safety Career Fair on Wednesday, December 11 for all Millbrook students to attend during study hall. Representatives from Fire/Rescue, EMS, LFCC, Communications, Conservation and the Sheriffs Office were in attendance.

Tuesday, December 17, 2019, Millbrook DECA members Samantha Hamer, Sofia Lertora and Augusta Martey completed the Dream Builder event with both Evendale and Redbud Run Elementary! Over 220 fifth grade students were challenged with a number of workplace readiness skills and guided in determining their dreams. At the end of both activities each school displayed their fifth grade Dream Cloud in the hallways!

School Board Meeting Reminder
School Board Meeting to Stream Live

On Tuesday, March 2, the Frederick County School Board will meet at 6:00 p.m. (Closed Session) / 7:00 p.m. (Public Session) at the FCPS Administration Building. Those who want to attend the meeting must complete the Meeting Registration Form and will be required to wear a face covering throughout the meeting. The meeting will also be made accessible via a live video stream on the FCPS YouTube Channel. Citizen/staff comments will be provided to School Board members at the meeting. The deadline to submit comments is Tuesday, March 2 at 3:00 p.m. Comments will be read at the meeting in accordance with the Board’s citizen/staff comment procedures.

Frederick County Public Schools Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Jim Angelo has been appointed to serve as a member of the Virginia LEARNS workgroup. The workgroup, which has been formed by the Virginia Department of Education, will be assessing the needs of students and working to support school divisions across Virginia as they implement in-person instruction options for students.
